Polymyositis


Polymyositis is a type of inflammatory myopathy, related to Dermatomyositis and Inclusion body myositis. Polymyositis means 'many muscle inflammation'. Polymyositis tends to become evident in adulthood, presenting with bilateral proximal muscle weakness, often noted in the upper legs due to early fatigue while walking. The weakness is generally progressive, accompanied by lymphocytic inflammation (mainly cytotoxic T8 lymphocytes). The cause is unknown, but seems to be related to autoimmune factors, genetics, and perhaps viruses. In rare cases, the cause is known to be infectious, associated with the pathogens that cause Lyme disease, Toxoplasmosis, and others.Polymyositis, like Dermatomyositis, strikes females with greater frequency than males. The skin involvement of Dermatomyositis is absent in Polymyositis.Diagnosis is fourfold, including elevation of creatine kinase, signs and symptoms, electromyograph (EMG) alteration, and a positive muscle biopsy. Treatment gener! ally involves glucocorticoids, esp. prednisone.

True this game is very good looking. -Excellent graphics -Best Facial Expressions -Suprisingly well done voice overs -Amazing CG cut scenes But I am supprized that most of you said this was one of the best story lines you have played. Honestly I thought it lacked depth compared to previous FF games. The whole love triangle was interesting but left me wanting more. FF VIII had a far better love driven story then X. The other thing that really hurt my oppinion on this game was the length of the game. Though I have to admit its a fun game, They should have never made a X-2! This game should have shown the full story. And break the PS2 mold by being the first double disc game! All in all its a fun game, I enjoyed playing it. Blitzball kept me entertained for a while. Though I suggest playing Final Fantasy 8 if you want a good love story!

New World Syndrome is a set of noncommunicable diseases brought on by consumption of junk food|rich food. Native American|Native Americans, the indigenous people of Oceania and perhaps other peoples of Asiatic origin are susceptible. It is characterized by obesity, heart disease, diabetes and shortened life span, and, of course, by a change from a traditional diet and exercise to a modern diet and a sedentary lifestyle.It is hypothesized that the syndrome has a genetic basis resulting from an enhanced ability to store fat. The reasoning is that a population stressed by famine would tend to develop this ability. Such a population, exposed to an abundance of rich food would then be at risk from conditions which are associated with obesity.Evidence found through the study of mitochondrial DNA suggests that there are several factors at play. Subjects of maternal descent from the above named indigenous populations have several genetic factors that provide more efficient conversi! on of some classes of carbohydrates into ATP. There is also indication that cellular responses to injury, muscular efficiency, and other metabolic differences may set the stage for other factors to cause the symptoms of the syndrome.Increased rates of depression are known to produce higher rates of obesity through decreased physical activity. Coupled with a more efficient metabolism this could be a major cause of NWS symptoms within population groups of e.g. native American descent. As with all studies of the genetic underpinnings of anthropologically diverse groups, the individual circumstances may differ from case to case.

The free floating screed is a device pioneered by Barber Greene Company in the 1930s that revolutionized the asphalt paving process. Barber Greene dominated the market until the patent expired in 1955, and now all major asphalt paver manufacturers use this design principle in their equipment.The free floating screed has become standard because of the smoothing or averaging effect it can have on the existing base course. Since the only connection between the asphalt paver and the screed is the tow arm, the screed can "float" vertically relative to the paver. This allows the paver to traverse uneven ground while the screed floats over the material placed in front of it.The free floating screed has a number of forces acting on it that, when in equilibrium, allow the depth behind the screed to be constant.* Tow arm pull: the force exerted on the screed by the paver dragging it
* Mass: the weight of the screed
* Resistance of the head of material: the resistance from the pile of material in front of the screedThe angle at which the tow arm pull is exerted on the screed also contributes to the motion; its resultant force is either added or subtracted from the mass of the screed.If each of these forces is constant, altering the angle of the screed to the horizontal (angle of attack) will control the amount of material extruded behind the screed. Increasing the angle angle of attack will cause the screed to climb higher through the pile of material, and therefore raise its trailing edge, increasing the amount of material extruded behind the screed. Similarly, reducing the angle of attack will reduce the amount of material extruded.

The book's main strength is it introduces you to a new material to buildinexpensively with. The main weakness is the fact that it is just anintroduction, and doesn't give any real solid information or advice onwhich way to build. Even given the newness of this material, I felt morefacts should have been given. The book gives you an brief overview of theways different people have used this medium, and has many pictures whereyou can judge the results of their systems.Most of the example housesbuilt using this material are not very inspiring.Mixer ideas are verygood, but overall I didn't feel the book was worth what I paid for it.

Papercrete


Papercrete is a fairly new construction material that consists of re-pulped Paper|paper fiber with portland cement or clay and/or other dirt added. When cement is added, this material is not as "green" as would be ideal, but the relatively small amount of cement is perhaps a reasonable tradeoff for what papercrete can offer. Care must be taken to utilize it properly, or you could be courting disaster. Eric Patterson and Mike McCain, who independently "invented" papercrete, (they called it "padobe" and "fibrous cement") have both contributed considerably to the machinery to make it and the ways of using it for building.The paper to be used can come from a variety of sources and is usually free. Newspaper, junk mail, magazines, books, etc. obtained from the local dump or from waste bins are all useful. Depending on the type of mixer that is used to make pulp out of it, the paper might be soaked in water beforehand or not. My first mixer used a small electric motor mounted dire! ctly to a shaft with a couple of four inch square blades on it, rather like a milk shake maker. This shaft was suspended in a plastic 55 gallon drum where the mixing took place.It is basically a trailer made from the rear end of a car, with the part that would attach to the drive shaft sticking upward and a lawn mower blade attached to it. The blade is surrounded by a large stock watering tank where the mixing occurs. There is a baffle on the side of the tank to force the slurry back into the blade as it circulates. With this mixer (which I tow behind my Volvo station wagon) I can make three or four wheel barrows full of thick papercrete in about twenty minutes. I simply fill the tank nearly full of water, add about one wheel barrow full of dry paper, one sack of portland cement, and perhaps some sand, depending on how I plan to use the mix. Then I drive slowly around the block, back over a drain box with 1/8 inch mesh on the bottom, and dump the slurry into the box via a d! rain hole in the bottom of the tank. After about a half hour o! f draini ng the excess water from the slurry, the papercrete is like soft, workable clay, but not nearly as messy.

`Design of a decade' is Janet's career retrospective of the previous ten hit filled years. A US #3 and UK #2. An amazing collection released when she was 29 and had amassed a staggering 19 US top 10 singles, most co penned by her. The songs are however not arranged chronologically. Released in 4 different versions with slightly different track lists, this is the UK/Europe version. Unlike quite a number of other female (especially dance) artists, Janet does not have a powerful voice. Her forte is finding catchy, funky, incredibly danceable tracks to suit her very pretty but wisp like vocals to perfection, and this collection shows just how clever that pairing is. Opening up with the brand new track, the oriental tinged pop/R&B of `Runaway', with lyrics taking the listener on a trip around the world, and an amazing video. A US #3 and UK top 5 hit. Next up is the razor sharp dance track `What have you done for me lately', her first US or UK top 10 (US #4 UK #3), and the lead! off single from her ground breaking `Control' album. Featuring man bashing lyrics, this track inspired acts like Jody Watley (`Lookin' for a new love') and Pebbles to name a few. `Nasty', the Prince like funk track calling for respect. `My middle name aint baby/it's Janet/Ms Jackson if you're nasty'. US#3 UK#19.Taken from `Control'. The upbeat pop/dance number `When I think of you' was her first US #1, and a UK #10. From `Control'. The catchy, fun filled `Escapade' which is faintly similar to `Runaway' was from the ambitious concept album `Rhythm Nation 1814', and was a US #1 and UK #17. The sparse Prince sounding but hard hitting `Miss you much' was a US #1 and UK #22. From `Rhythm nation'. `Whoops now' is a sunny sounding, bouncy pop number, released in the UK, it hit #10. It was a hidden track on some copies of the `Janet' CD. The slowed down dance/funk of `Love will never do without you' with its chunky beats was a US #1. Featuring Janet sinking is a smoky lower ! register in the opening verses before launching into her famil! iar rang e. This was the 7th single off the `Rhythm nation' album, a record setting 7 top 5 singles off an album, a record that still stands today. `Alright' with its epic video featuring cameos from Cab Calloway and Heavy D was a US #4. Also from `Rhythm nation' and featured here in a remix. Next up was `The best things in life are free', a duet with Luther Vandross from the soundtrack to the movie `Mo money'. An upbeat house number, it hit #10 in the US and #2 in the UK. `Control' was a US #5. A funk/pop song with hip hop beats and lyrics like `When I was 17/I did what people told me/Did what my father said and let my mother mould me/but that was long ago/I'm in Control'. Janet was telling us she was all grown up and taking control of her life. `The pleasure principle' is an upbeat synth driven dance song, US #14. Taken from `Control'. `Black cat' penned solely by Janet is head banging rock, a surprise lone change in musical direction from the `Rhythm nation' album. Another US! #1 and UK #20, and featured here in a remix. Title track `Rhythm nation' is a clunky industrial sounding funk number. US #2. `That's the way love goes', due to contractual issues, is the sole representation from her uber sexy `Janet' album. A mellow R&B song, it was a US #1 and UK #2. `Come back to me' (remixed here) is a ballad off the `Rhythm nation' album, a US #2. The tender ballad `Let's wait awhile' (about taking things slow in a relationship) was the 5th top 5 single off the `Control' album (US #2, UK #3), a feat that was achieved for the first time by a female, and which she surpassed on her next album. The brand new smoldering ballad `Twenty fore play' (with a nice change in tempo midway through) closes out this superb collection from one of dance music's premier songstresses. Full of fabulous photos of Janet from 86 to 95 (including stills from videos), a very lengthy write up (including snippets from interviews with Janet and Jam & Lewis) on the evolution o! f her music from 86 to 95, as well as chart statistics and num! erous aw ards received by Janet. Rebar is common steel reinforcing bar, an important component of reinforced concrete and reinforced masonry structures. It is usually formed from carbon steel|mild steel, and is given ridges for better frictional adhesion to the concrete.Concrete is a material that is very strong in compression (pushing), but virtually without strength in tension (pulling). To compensate for this imbalance in concrete's behavior, rebar is formed into it to carry the tensile loads.Masonry structures and the mortar holding them together have similar properties to concrete and also have a limited ability to carry tensile loads. Some standard masonry units like blocks and bricks are made with strategically placed voids to accommodate rebar, which is then secured in place with grout. This album is pretty interesting. It's exactly what is says it is-a tribute. The renditions are fairly well done. There's no experimenting with new sounds or anything of the like. It's pure coldplay sung by strings, which isn't bad in itself, but it's not exciting or something you'd want to invest any money in. You'd be better off listening to the real coldplay. However, this CD is definitely different, and the rendions are not bad. If you've got money to burn and would like to listen to a new take on coldplay, then get this album for sure.

Vitamin_B6


The two major forms of vitamin B6 are pyridoxine and pyridoxamine. In the liver they are converted to pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (PLP) which is a cofactor (biochemistry)|cofactor in many reactions of amino acid metabolism. PLP also is necessary for the enzymatic reaction governing the release of glucose from glycogen.
Pyroluria is one potential cause of vitamin B6 deficiency. An overdose of pyridoxine can cause a temporary deadening of certain nerves such as the proprioceptory nerves; causing a feeling of disembodiment common with the loss of proprioception.At least one preliminary study has found that this vitamin may increase dream vividness or the ability to recall dreams. It is thought that this effect may be due to the role this vitamin plays in the conversion of tryptophan to serotonin.
